Joining Peartree Primary School

Peartree is a one-form entry school, which means that we welcome 30 children into Reception each year. We occasionally have in-year places available.

You can apply for a place at Peartree via Hertfordshire County Council. If you would like any more information please call them on 0300 123 4043.

In-Year Admissions

Going to a new school is a very important step for each child.  We welcome children and their families throughout the school year and are very used to settling children in, some of whom don’t speak any English at all. Hertfordshire County Council wants to make the process of applying for a school place as easy as possible for parents and carers, please apply via the in-year admissions systems.

Admissions for Reception starting – September 2024

For children born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020, you will need to apply for a reception place via the Hertfordshire County Council website. 

Reception 2024 open mornings 

Dates for a tour of Peartree Primary School are as follows:

  • Wednesday 18th October 2023 – 9:30 am – 10:30 am
  • Thursday 23rd November 2023 –  9.30 am – 10.30 am
  • Thursday 11th January 2024 – 9:30 am – 10:30 am (Date changed, originally on the 12th January 2024)

Key dates include:

  • 1st November 2023 – Applications open
  • 15th January 2024 – Closing date for applications
  • 16th April 2024 – Allocation Day

You will receive an email stating the school you’ve been allocated if you applied online and confirmed your email address. Notification letters will be posted first class only to parents/carers who applied on paper. If you applied online, you can use online facilities including opting out, making a new application and submitting an appeal.

Secondary School Place for September 2024

You will need to apply for school places via Hertfordshire County Council.

Key dates include:

  • 1st September 2023 – Applications open
  • 31st October 2023 – Closing date for applications
  • 1st March 2024 – Allocation Day
